OUR BELIEFS

ABOUT GOD

There is one God, existing in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is Creator of the heavens and the earth and Redeemer of mankind. From Him are all things and for Him we exist.

ABOUT JESUS

Jesus Christ is God. He came down from heaven, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man who lived a sinless and perfect life. For our sake He was crucified, suffered death, and was buried. Jesus, who knew no sin became sin so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. By His literal resurrection, He conquered death, hell and the grave. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His kingdom will have no end.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and is eternal and equal to the Father (God) and Son (Jesus). He convicts of sin and opens the hearts and minds of people to believe in the Son and be born again.

The Holy Spirit is received at the moment of salvation. The filling of the Spirit is an ongoing process in the Christian life. We hold to the belief that the baptism of the Spirit may occur at the moment of salvation but can also occur subsequent to salvation. He fills believers with His power, enables them to live in obedience to the will of God, teaches them, and gives them His gifts "to each one individually just as He wills."

ABOUT SALVATION

Jesus Christ died as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. Jesus' death paid the full price for our sins and fulfilled the just requirement of God for our atonement. All who believe in Him are fully justified by His shed blood by grace through faith. Salvation is a free gift from God, initiated by Him alone, to no credit of our own works.

We believe salvation is an ongoing experience in the life of the believer. We have been saved when we place our faith in Christ alone as Lord of our life (justification), our salvation is being made manifest in the natural as we grow in the righteousness of Christ (sanctification), and we will be saved when Jesus comes back for His bride and leads us into our eternal salvation (glorification).

ABOUT MAN

Man was created in the image of God. God created man for the purpose of living in fellowship with Him. Man suffered physical and spiritual death and became separated from God through sinful disobedience. As a result all men are born with a sinful nature and cannot attain a right relationship with God through their own works.

ABOUT THE CHURCH

Jesus Christ established and is the head of His church. Through the power of the Holy Spirit the church carries out Christ's work in the world. The purpose of the church is to glorify God, proclaim the Gospel to the world, and make disciples of all nations.
